TMX Group Consolidated Trading Statistics – March 2013

April 3, 2013 (TORONTO) – TMX Group Limited today announced March 2013 trading statistics for its diversified group of exchanges – ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, TSX Venture Exchange, Montreal Exchange (MX), Natural Gas Exchange (NGX), TMX Select and Alpha.

Trading volume on ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú in March 2013 increased 5% compared to February 2013, but was down 23% year-over-year. Volume on TSX Venture Exchange was down 2% from February 2013 and was down 28% compared to March 2012. TMX Select trading volume experienced an increase of 19% month-over-month, but was down 15% compared to the same month last year. Alpha trading volume for March 2013 decreased 7% compared to February 2013 and was down 28% compared to March 2012.

Volume on MX decreased 14% month-over-month, and was down 19% compared to March 2012. Open interest contracts at the end of March 2013 decreased 2% from the end of February 2013, and fell 11% compared to the end of March 2012.

Volume on NGX in March 2013 increased 8% from February 2013, but was down 19% from the same month a year earlier.
