TMX Group Consolidated Trading Statistics – September 2015
October 2, 2015 (TORONTO) – TMX Group Limited today announced September 2015 trading statistics for its marketplaces – ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, TSX Venture Exchange, TMX Select, TSX Alpha Exchange ("Alpha"), Montréal Exchange ("MX") and NGX.
In September 2015, TMX Group implemented significant changes to its equity offerings designed to improve the Canadian trading landscape and reduce market complexity. Effective September 21, 2015, Alpha introduced a transformative new trading model, which included a new set of trading rules and a new pricing schedule. Alpha now operates as an unprotected market under the Order Protection Rule. As part of TMX Group's changes, TMX Select ceased operation at the close of business September 18, 2015.
MX reached a new daily open interest record on S&P/TSX 60 Index Options (SXO) on September 17, 2015 of 197,046 contracts.
NGX set a new record for monthly electricity volume with 10,786 gigawatt-hours of Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) facilitated power.
